Dr. Rickert Allen joined NCB in 2002 and pioneered the re-imaging and re-structure of his division. He was a compassionate leader who was able to keep his team cohesive and committed while engendering enterprise buy-in and compliance despite the tough decisions that had to be made.
He distinguished by his exemplary contribution within the corporate realm, which was most recently marked by his 18-year tenure as Senior General Manager for the Group Human Resources and Facilities Division of NCB.
Dr. Allen also relished sharing his expertise with corporate aspirants and as an adjunct lecturer in the Mona School of Business MBA programme. Even as he rose to the pinnacle of his career, he remained a dedicated family man, an avid reader, truly a gentle giant.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a Jamaican Citizen.
- Be accepted as a first-year undergraduate student between the ages of 18 -24 years to the University of the Commonwealth Caribbean (UCC) in one of the aforementioned eligible programmes.
- Have demonstrated financial need (household income).
- Show history of community spirit such as membership in an established youth club, involvement in a service club and voluntary community service or school involvement.
