2023 LEVEL UP PROGRAMME

N.C.B. Foundation Level Up programme provides free virtual training in digital, financial, and life skills for unemployed or underemployed Jamaicans who have not completed tertiary-level studies. 

Aimed at equipping Jamaicans with digital skills that enhance their employability and entrepreneurial ventures, Level Up provides a complement of self-pace, virtual, and virtual one-on-one training in courses such as Freelancing 101, Fiverr 101, Upwork 101, Understanding AI (Artificial Intelligence), Financial Literacy, Social Media Content Creation, Press Releases, Resumes & Cover Letters, SEO Blog Content, Website Content, eCommerce, Email Marketing, Get Paid to Type and Make Calls, and more.

Jamaican citizens over 18 years’ old who are unemployed or underemployed, and who have not completed tertiary-level studies.

Underemployment refers to a scenario where a person is employed in less than full-time or regular jobs or work inadequate hours. For example, in Jamaica when a person works 40 hours per week they are classified as being in a full-time job. 

 

If you work less than 30 hours per week, it can be classified as being underemployed.

Participants will be exposed to applications that can help them earn online through the following courses:

  • Freelancing 101
  • Fiverr 101
  • Upwork 101
  • Freelancing on Your Own
  • Understanding AI (Artificial Intelligence)
  • Financial Literacy

Plus, participants will get training in the following areas:

  • Social Media Content Creation
  • Press Releases
  • Resumes & Cover Letters
  • SEO Blog Content
  • Website Content
  • eCommerce
  • Email Marketing
  • Marketing Strategies
  • Scriptwriting for Videos
  • Customer Service

It is a six-week training programme with an additional 18-weeks coaching to assist participants to earn online.

To apply for a Level Up grant, visit the www.ncbscholarships.com/level-up/ and select ‘Apply Now’. Applications open on September 19, 2023, and closes October 14, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Complete the online application in full by October 14, 2023
  • Be a Jamaican citizen over 18 years-old who is either unemployed or underemployed
  • Not have already attained an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Have demonstrated financial need (household income)
  • Demonstrate commitment to personal development, community, and nation-building

Yes. Applicants will need the following:

  • TRN (Taxpayer Registration Number)
  • Government Issued ID: National Identification Card or Driver’s License or Passport

To access the online training platform, participants will need the following:

  • Internet access
  • Devices such as a smartphone, laptop, or tablet computer

Confirmed participants will be notified via email if they have been selected to participate in this year’s staging, 5-7 days after the application window closes.
